Social Franchise Opportunities

For leaders ready to go beyond learning and sharing — ready to build a dedicated, independent child protection organization in their own community — PPE Kids offers a social franchise partnership.

A social franchise means exactly what it sounds like: you're not starting from zero, and you're not opening a branch of someone else's organization either. You're building your own — with a proven framework, curriculum, and brand behind you, and full ownership of the organization you build.

What PPE Kids Provides

  • The Four Pillars framework — Screening, Training, Policies, and Accountability

  • Curriculum and training materials, adapted to fit local law, culture, and context

  • Use of the PPE Kids name and brand

  • Ongoing technical mentorship and trauma-informed guidance

  • Continued connection to the Global Child Safeguarding Network (GCSN), so you're never solving hard problems alone

What You're Building

A social franchise is its own independent, locally registered organization — not a branch office of PPE Kids USA. It has its own board and its own finances, accountable to your community and your own legal structure, not to PPE Kids USA. PPE Kids' role is technical and advisory — curriculum, brand, and ongoing mentorship — not governance control and not financial backing.

The Honest Picture on Funding

We want every leader considering this path to go in with clear eyes, because clarity up front makes for a far stronger partnership than good intentions alone.

PPE Kids' support is operational and advisory — not financial. We don't fund a franchise's ongoing operations or programming. That means building fundraising capacity isn't a "someday" concern to figure out once things are running; it's core to the role from day one. In our experience, the single most valuable early hire for a new franchise is someone dedicated to grant writing and funder relationships — not a general administrator.

This isn't a gap in the model; it's the model working as intended. Many of the strongest funders in child protection fund only independent, locally-led organizations, and specifically will not fund a branch or affiliate of an international nonprofit. Becoming a genuine local franchise — with its own board, its own registration, its own accountability — is what opens the door to that funding, and what makes the work sustainable and truly locally owned for the long run.

Is This the Right Step?

This path isn't the right next move for everyone in our network, and that's completely fine — the Global Child Safeguarding Network (GCSN) itself is a complete, valuable relationship on its own.

A social franchise is probably a strong fit if:

  • You want to build and lead your own organization, not run a program inside someone else's

  • You're ready to be the person raising money and answering to a board — not just delivering great programming

  • You already have, or are ready to build, real relationships with government, other NGOs, and funders in your community

It's probably not the right moment yet if:

  • You're looking for a funded position more than a founding role

  • Fundraising feels like someone else's job rather than close to the center of what you want to do

  • You're still building the local relationships a new organization would depend on

There's no penalty for waiting — staying an active Global Child Safeguarding Network (GCSN) member while you build toward readiness is a completely legitimate path.

Start the Conversation

Becoming a social franchise partner starts with a real conversation, not an application form. We want to talk through your community's specific context, what's already in place, and what building this would actually take — before either of us commits to anything.
