 From Awareness to Action

April 19 – April 26

 

Awareness without action doesn't protect kids. This week, PPE Kids is moving beyond wearing a color to providing the actual tools, scripts, and safety checklists you need to build a safer community.

 

📅 Daily Action Guide

 

Sunday (4/19) — Kickoff: The Digital Sanctuary

Theme: Moving from Awareness to Equipping.

  • Action: We Launch

    • Our brand new PPE Parents Resource Page and age group specific subpages

    • Trusted Talks videos for ages 3 to 7, ages 8 to 11ages 12 to 16                                                 *these videos are designed to be conversation starters

  • Goal: Equip parents with resources and set up your "headquarters" for the week.

Monday (4/20) — Ask the Question

Theme: Parent Empowerment.

  • Action: Choose one organization your child belongs to and ask: "What are you doing to actively prevent child abuse?"

  • Goal: Overcome the fear of asking the "awkward" questions.

 

Tuesday (4/21) — Safe Adult Conversations

Theme: Child Empowerment.

  • Action: Have a 5-minute conversation with your child to identify their 3 Safe Adults.

  • Goal: Use our worksheet to help your child draw or list the people they can always go to.

     

Wednesday (4/22) — Policies Day

Theme: Simple & Practical Accountability.

  • Action: Review the PPE 3-Point Safety Checklist (covering alone time, background checks, and reporting).

  • Goal: Learn exactly what to look for in any organization that serves children.

 

Thursday (4/23) — Webinar Night

Theme: Education to Authority.

  • Action: Join our live Protector Webinar at 7 PM EST. 

  • Goal: Move from "knowing" to "doing" with expert guidance.

 

Friday (4/24) — Commitment Day

Theme: Long-term Behavior Change.

  • Action: Choose your commitment: Sign up for permanent resources, share safety tips with 3 friends, or join our Lumi updates.

  • Goal: Recognize that prevention is a lifestyle, not just a moment.

 

Saturday (4/25) — Family Day with Lumi

Theme: Hope & Engagement.

  • Action: Download and enjoy Lumi coloring sheets and resources.

  • Goal: Show that safety conversations can be light, hopeful, and family-friendly.

     

Sunday (4/26) — Gratitude & Reflection

Theme: Honoring the Frontline.

  • Action: We honor the social workers, law enforcement, and CACs standing in the gap.

  • Goal: Close the week by thanking those who protect children every day.
