Security & the 93% problem
Systems, visibility and institutional integrity.
“The prudent see danger and take refuge.” (Proverbs 22:3)
Most organizations secure their doors. We secure their culture.
Every year, schools, churches and daycares spend millions on perimeter security, hardened facilities and active-shooter protocols. Access control is one piece of the puzzle. But a hyper-focus on outside threats creates a blinding vulnerability: it trains staff to watch for a stranger climbing the fence while ignoring the trusted insider walking down the main hallway.
True child protection doesn’t only look outward. It looks inward.
The 93% reality shift
of child sexual abuse victims under 18 knew their abuser: people in familiar, trusted roles in the child’s everyday life.
of child sexual abuse offenses are committed by complete strangers.
Systems over suspicion. Child safety isn’t an emotional guessing game of trying to “spot a monster.” It is built on systems.
Abuse thrives on isolation, misplaced trust and secrecy. Our Architecture of Integrity connects human behavior with physical space, designing environments where abuse is difficult, highly visible, easily interrupted and quickly reported. By removing the physical opportunities for harm, we take the guesswork off your people.

Field note: combating compliance drift
The greatest weakness in any safety system is drift. After a major overhaul, teams relax and old habits creep back: a teacher tapes artwork over a door window to block hallway noise, or a custodian props a zoned door open for convenience. Lock in a lasting deterrent with unannounced supervisory drop-ins on a strict six-month cadence.
Is your building protecting your children, or helping a predator?
Organizations that go through the PPE Kids Security Framework see their buildings, volunteers and safety culture in a way they never have before. Some of what they find is uncomfortable. All of it is necessary.
