Welcome to ppekids.org (the “Site”), operated by Protect Prevent Empower (dba PPE Kids), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (“PPE Kids,” “we,” “us”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Educational information, not professional advice
The Site provides general information about preventing child sexual abuse. It is not legal, medical, psychological or insurance advice, and it does not replace your federal, state, local, licensing or mandatory-reporting obligations. For advice about a specific situation, consult a qualified professional.
The Site is not a crisis service. If a child is in immediate danger, call 911. To report abuse, call the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-422-4453 or your local child protective services. See Get Help.
Our content
The Site’s text, graphics, videos, audio and downloads, including Lumi, the Lumi Program™, Behind the Smile™, the PPE Kids Safeguarding Framework™, the 4 Pillars of Protection and the PPE Kids name and logos, are owned by PPE Kids or used with permission and are protected by copyright and trademark law.
Free resources. You are welcome to download, print and share our free resources, such as the Lumi printables, parent guides and the Child Safety Pledge, for personal, family, classroom and ministry use, as long as you keep the PPE Kids name on them and do not sell them. Any other use, including adapting, republishing or using our materials in paid training, requires our written permission.
Using the Site responsibly
Please do not use the Site to break the law, to harm or attempt to contact children inappropriately, to send spam or malicious code, or to interfere with the Site’s operation. We may report misuse to law enforcement.
Links to other websites
The Site links to other organizations, such as hotlines, news articles, Zeffy and YouTube. We are not responsible for their content or practices, and a link is not an endorsement.
Donations
Donations are processed by Zeffy and are subject to Zeffy’s terms. PPE Kids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 93-4057061); donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. For questions about a donation, email [email protected].
Programs and services
Screening, training, accreditation and other services for organizations are provided under separate written agreements, which govern those services.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Site and its content are provided “as is.” We work hard to keep information accurate and current, but we make no warranties that it is complete, error-free or suitable for any particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PPE Kids is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Site.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
