"How the Church Became the Pharisees It Warns Against"

The Pharisees had all the power. They knew Scripture better than anyone. They held the highest religious offices. They were respected, feared, untouchable.

Sound familiar?
Many church leaders today love to preach against the Pharisees while walking in their exact footsteps. Obsessed with control. Protective of their reputation. More interested in looking holy than being holy.
And just like the Pharisees, they reject accountability:
Sexual abuse scandals? Keep it quiet.
Mismanaged finances? Bury the records.
Congregants asking hard questions? Call them "divisive."
Jesus ate with sinners but called out religious leaders who valued power over people. If He walked into your church today, would He find a humble servant or a modern-day Pharisee?
It’s time to stop hiding behind excuses and start walking in transparency.
